Grateful to be meeting so many dear and important people. Glad to have been able to grow and see so many beautiful plants and flowers. To try so many new recipes and ideas. To cultivate some very dear new friendships, rekindle other family and friendships. To Harvest the best wishes of many and to anticipate planting positive viable seeds for next year.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING to YOU and your family

On Dole Valley Bridge

My previous post showed pictures from Dole Valley Bridge it has been a place to go for peace, splendor, healing and just to stop for a moment and catch your breath in this fast paced world we all call Home. The poem below by William Wordsworth (1770-1850) speaks to such feelings for me, hope you enjoy these thoughts.

Composed upon Westminster Bridge

Earth has not anything to show more fair:
Dull would he be of soul who could pass by
A sight so touching in its majesty:
This City now doth, like a garment, wear
The beauty of the morning; silent, bare,
Ships, towers, domes, theaters, and temples lie
Open unto fields, and to the sky;
All bright and glittering in the smokeless air.
Never did sun more beautifully steep
In his first splendor, valley, rock, or hill;
Ne'er saw I, never felt, a calm so deep!
The river glideth at his own sweet will;
Dear God! the very houses seem asleep;
And all that mighty heart is lying still!

Snow and the River

My peaceful little valley has had its first snow already. The 500kv powerlines I have spoken of in earlier posts are proposed to cross the East Fork of the Lewis River either side of the Dole Valley Bridge. I think it would be quite a shame to lose views such as those from the bridge.
